What the archive records
Shehzad Roy is a Pakistani singer-songwriter who became an education reformer. He founded Zindagi Trust in 2002, and his 2013 television series Chal Parha, which toured public schools nationwide, helped push Pakistan's National Assembly to criminalize corporal punishment in schools that same year. He later built Durbeen, a teacher-training institute that partnered with Oxford University to redesign how Pakistani teachers are trained and licensed.
