What the archive records
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed is the Chairman of Pakistan's Higher Education Commission. Born in a small village in Attock, he trained as a lecturer in Rawalpindi before completing a PhD at UC Riverside on a USAID scholarship and an MS in business. He has served as Deputy Director General at ISESCO in Rabat with diplomatic status, and is now in his second term as HEC chairman after first serving from 2014 to 2018.
