What the archive records
Naeem Shafique is a mechanical engineer from UET Peshawar who joined General Electric in the early 1980s, beginning at the Tarbela hydro project. Over a forty-year career he set up GE's power practices across the Middle East and Central Asia and eventually ran GE's power business in Pakistan, retiring in 2020. For decades GE held the dominant share of Pakistan's gas-turbine power generation.
